English Country Dances English Country Dances Customer Review: Ok cd
Not quite what I had in mind……I was expecting a cd with folk type of songs…Jane Austen era.
Customer Review: Charming!
This cd, English Country dances, is a charming one. If you like to dance, there are many songs that you can make up steps for or take dances from movies, like Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion or Northanger Abbey. The last track, ‘The Queen’s Jigg’ is actually in the 2007 production of Northanger abbey with Felicity Jones. Catherine Morland and Henry Tilney dance to that song. Whether you are a Jane Austen fan or just love classical music, you will love this cd!

Customer Review: This CD Bangs. Straight Whiplash! Champion Sound.
I will stand this CD up against any compilation ever assembled. The thing is it almost all underappreciated MC’s. You got some SuperStars like Bigge, Nas, Jay-Z and Foxy Brown but everyone is underappreciated. GangStar, Krs-One, Jeru, Black Moon, MOP. This is a who’s who of underground rap. Must buy no lie… You will play this CD 20 times the first week… I guarantee it.

NO LIE A MUST BUY!

Gershwin Plays Gershwin

Gershwin Plays Gershwin Gershwin Plays Gershwin Customer Review: The Best Recordings of George Gershwin’s Piano Improvisations
This low priced CD is the greatest presentation of George Gershwin’s incredible improvisational skill, reworking his popular hits of the day into complex arrangements that can hold the interest of the ‘most discriminating music lover.’ These disc recordings are much more lifelike than the well known piano-roll CDs. On this Cd Gershwin’s filled-in tenth cords in his left hand along with his consecutive four-note chord spreads to the octave with his right, cross rhythms, and virtuoso embellishments give the piano arrangements a full sound. The recording of ‘Swanee’ is a small 1919 group recording of the Van Eps Quartet with a young George Gershwin at the piano and Nathan Glantz on the saxaphone. The Van Eps Quartet plays in a yiddish sounding style which accents Swanee’s rooting in yiddish music. The next recordings are of George Gershwin at the piano recorded in 1926 and 1928. This CD also includes the 1924 Paul Whiteman orchestra recording of ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ with the composer at the piano. The arrangement was shortened to about 9 minutes in order to fit onto the two sides of a 78rmp record, but I think this is the best recording of ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ ever recorded, because this was recorded when ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ was New, Exciting, and Full of Life. This recording lets the humor that was originally intended by Gershwin shine through. His own recording of his three preludes is the best rendition of the popular preludes. Gershwin stands as the best performer of his own works, and this CD is the best example of his own playing. The improvisations of his show tunes on this CD are much more fleshed out than his brief radio recordings available elsewhere, although I recommend trying to find all of his recordings. Gershwin’s solo piano arrangement of the Andante section of Rhapsody in Blue is another opportunity to hear George play his own material. The last recording on the disc is a 1931 rehersal of ‘Second Rhapsody’ which George Gershwin had recorded onto disc by NBC for him to listen to. Once again, George Gershwin is the best interpreter of his own works, and this CD is the best document of Gershwin playing Gershwin.

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band/East West

Monday, November 30th, 2009

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band/East West The Paul Butterfield Blues Band/East West UK remastered reissue combines the blues-rock act’s first two albums for Elektra, ‘Paul Butterfield Blues Band’ (1965) & ‘East-West’ (1966). Includes new liner notes & rarely seen photos. 2001.
Customer Review: JUST LIKE BEING AT THE FILLMORE!
PAUL BUTTERFIELD AND FRIENDS SHINE ON THIS ALBUM–I HEARD THE WALKIN’ BLUES AND I WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE 60′S AND HEARING THEM ALL AT THE FILLMORE. WHAT A FLASH! VERY SATISFYING–SHORT OF HEARING THEM LIVE.
Customer Review: Disappointing Re-Issue
This was a disappointment. It is really unfortunate that for this price no effort was put into re-mixing or re-mastering these two iconic albums. After years of listening to the original vinyl in college on my old Acoustic Research stereo system these modern digital discs played on equipment superior to my old AR gear were an unpleasant surprise. The sound is flat, muddy and thin. The music and the energy still stand out. These classics deserved better treatment.

Live at Cibolo Creek Country Club Live at Cibolo Creek Country Club Customer Review: Consistant Quality
What can you say about a singer/songwriter who rocks the house!
Buy anything from RWH and you will find many, I repeat many, gems that you’ll email to your buddies!
That is how these artists get exposure.
Customer Review: Rowdy tunes and dark power ballads
One of the reasons to buy this CD is to hear the only readily available recording of Ray Wylie Hubbard singing his 1970s anthem, “Redneck Mother.” It’s the last tune on the CD, called “Obligatory Encore.” Ray’s apologetic about the song — but he admits to enjoying the royalty checks.

Hip-Hop for Sale

Hip-Hop for Sale Hip-Hop for Sale Customer Review: hey! Its CAN I BUS!
He is not called CAN I BUS OVER HYPE BEATS! He is called CAN-I-BUS, which he can, much better than many emcees in the game. Sure, his flows aren’t always the most favorable or the most catchy, but listen close and he says some pretty dope lyrics, and sometimes he spits some lame crap. I ahve never heard an emcee spit 10/10, NONE! Not even Biggie or Pac, Mos Def, Del, Sage, Kool Keith. Maybe Gift of gab, but that’s different. Can-I-bus has a style his own, and its very aggro, and he does sound weak on tracks where he is trying to be anything but a rippa or the mad rapper. Sometimes it seems that he gets lost in the biz, wants to be mainstream yet the master of flows. Adding in rhymes about smokin killing. It’s all entertainment. His beats have never been that tight, always so so. The beats on this album are tight, they are minimal. He is not the best emcee, and his choruses are weak, but so are a lot of emcees choruses. A chorus is a pretty weak concept anyways. Like Kool Keith said “Don’t need no M%$$a F&^%$N Chorus!” If canibus ditched the choruses his stuff would sound that much tighter. Hip hop for sale is not his best album, but its beats are better than the can-i-bus album. It’s worth checkin out, it won’t get mad play in your ipod or cd player, but its one to own. He is truly an amazing emcee.
Customer Review: The best from one of the illest around!!!
By far, this is the best album from Canibus yet!! His other albums, although lyrically top notch, the production has been mediocre at best.
Canibus has really found a pretty good production team which is finally able to match beats with his attack MC style. I own Canibus’s other cd’s and this one shines like a star.I’m not gonna pick the best songs on this one because they are all better than three stars. Pick it up!!
